HOUSTON --A woman died in her burning car after being hit at the intersection of Harwin and the West Beltway in southwest Houston and an accused drunk driver is now charged in her death. Jonathan Lacier Davis, 22, is charged with intoxication manslaughter in the 179th State District Court. Police say Davis was driving a tan Chrysler PT Cruiser southbound on the West Sam Houston Parkway South service road when he ran a red light at Harwin. The Chrysler then struck a red Honda Civic, causing it to spin around several times and burst into flames, killing the Honda's driver. Authorities say they found containers of alcohol in the PT Cruiser. The identity of the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. A female passenger riding with Davis was taken to Southwest Memorial Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
