Soldier sought in daughter's death caught in Texas City

TEXAS CITY, TX Deputy U.S. Marshal Alfredo Perez said Wednesday that 22-year-old Charles Timothy Morris was caught in Texas City at his sister's home. She hasn't been charged.

Galveston police say a tip led to Morris, who's in the Galveston County Jail awaiting transfer to Kentucky over the death of Alayna Adair.

Police in Oak Grove, Ky., say Morris called 911 on July 2 to say his daughter fell and struck her head as he bathed her. She died later at a hospital. An autopsy determined the girl suffered brain trauma.

An Army spokesman says Morris, who's from Fayette, Ala., has been on transitional leave as he prepares for discharge.
