Driver injured in auto-train collision

PASADENA, TX

The accident happened on North South St., located just north of Highway 225 as the woman was trying to go around an 18-wheeler that was slowing down for the train. Police say the woman drove around the down railroad arms while the lights and bells were going off and struck the train, which was already traveling in the intersection.

The train pushed the vehicle down a little ways, and she appeared to have been pinned for a while.

The woman did not sustain any life-threatening injuries but was transported via LifeFlight to Memorial Hermann Hospital as a precaution.

There was no immediate indication that alcohol was a factor.
