HOUSTON --The Houston father sentenced to life in prison in 2005 for the brutal beating of his six-month-old daughter could soon be paroled. Ivan Castaneda is eligible for release after serving just six years of the sentence and earning what prison officials say equates to nine years of "good time" credits. Six-month-old Haley Castaneda turned up at Texas Children's Hospital in 2005 with two broken legs, a broken arm, a skull fracture, a nearly severed tongue and other severe injuries. Investigators have called the case one of the worst instances of child abuse they've ever seen. Today on Eyewitness News Live at Five, reporter Kevin Quinn will show you how some are fighting to keep Ivan Castaneda behind bars and how that little girl is doing today.
