Man charged with bringing drugs from Texas to Miss

JACKSON, MS

A Drug Enforcement Administration agent's sworn affidavit said Kendrick Cox acknowledged bringing more than 10 kilograms of cocaine from Houston, Texas, for distribution in south Mississippi since November 2010.

Cox was arrested at the Chandeleur Lodge in Pascagoula, Miss., on July 9. He made an initial court appearance Friday in federal court in Gulfport, Miss.

Cox's attorney did not immediately respond to a message Monday.

Police said they found crack and powdered cocaine in a hotel room as well as marijuana, 235 Xanax pills and two pistols.
