A Pasadena man was treated for smoke inhalation Sunday after trying to save his kitten from a house fire. The fire broke out just before 2pm at a home on Norman at Bearle in Pasadena.

Officials said the resident originally made it out of the house fine, but then he went back inside to rescue his kitten.

Firefighters got the man and the kitten out safely. They then went back in to search for up to five more cats.

There was no word on their conditions Sunday evening, and no word on what caused the fire.
