LEAGUE CITY, TX --Firefighters battled a blaze that erupted late Tuesday evening at a tanning store at a shopping center in League City. Transtar Jam Cams near that location showed various emergency vehicles with lights flashing at the shopping center off Interstate 45 and FM 646. League City Police Department Sgt. John Jordan says they suspect that a tanning bed shorted out and started the fire at Malibu Tan. The shopping center was evacuated while they put out the flames, which were contained only to that store. No injuries have been reported. A total of seven fire trucks were dispatched to the scene to battle the blaze. Among the firefighters was a group who had just finished a pinning ceremony when the call dropped so they were initiated immediately and responded.
