Fire Department spokesman Kyle Moore says the man was hanging from a safety rope at McCaw Hall, a concert venue.
Jose Garcia says he's washed windows for the same company for seven years and never had a mishap like this. He says a chain securing his seat snapped. The 36-year-old tells The Seattle Times, "I'm OK. I'm just happy to be down."
Firefighters first went to the roof, about 15 feet above the man, then lowered a harness to secure him until the ladder truck arrived.
