One body found after plane crash in Matagorda Bay

PORT O'CONNOR, TX The Coast Guard says the search continues Tuesday for the pilot of the single-engine plane that crashed Sunday morning into Matagorda Bay after takeoff from Pierce Field in Port O'Connor.

The Texas Department of Public Safety says two men were on board.

DPS says the body of the passenger was located Monday in the cockpit of the Lancair. Trooper Gerald Bryant identified the victim as 42-year-old David Eddington of Austin. Still sought is the owner of the plane, 67-year-old Lyle Koen of Austin.

The cause of the crash is sought. Witnesses say they heard the engine sputtering before the accident.
