HOUSTON --Power has been restored to the METRO Main Street/Red Line light rail system after an afternoon outage. It happened around 1:40pm today. The power failure occurred near the intersection of Fannin and Bellows near Texas Children's Hospital, where scaffolding equipment from bridge construction fell on the rail power grid.
All trains are back in service following a one hour delay. During the power outage a bus bridge to compensate for lost rail service was established to ensure patrons were able to move along the line.
