The driver took off. Officers are checking to see if cameras at a nearby shopping center caught the accident. The driver could face charges for failing to stop.

HOUSTON
This happened on Westheimer near Fountainview around 1:30am. Houston police say the victim was not in a crosswalk and attempted to cross Westheimer when he was hit by a dark blue or black pickup truck. The male victim, 53, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
