Harris County officials have approved a new study on what to do with the Astrodome. The Houston Chronicle reports that the Harris County Commissioners court has pledged $50,000 on the future of the Houston icon. The county spends close to $5 million a year on the Dome's debt, insurance and utility costs.

A 2009 review laid out several options for the landmark ranging from razing the Astrodome to turning it into a movie sound stage.
