Man questioned in home invasion, murder

HOUSTON They say he and another man tried to abandon the car at an apartment complex in northeast Houston.

The Dodge Charger was reported stolen after the victim was found shot to death at his home on Kress near Crane on Friday.

According to officials, both suspects were inside the vehicle around 11pm Saturday. A deputy identified the car based on the license plate number, then followed the vehicle and waited until other officers arrived.

Authorities tried to stop the car, but the suspects pulled into an apartment complex on Wells Fargo and abandoned the car, then ran into the woods.

Police combed the area from above and below and found one suspect. They shot him with a TASER, then transported him to an area hospital where he was treated and released back into custody.

The suspect was taken to Harris County Jail overnight Saturday.

The second suspect remained at large Sunday. No charges related to the home invasion or homicide have been filed. Anyone with information about that crime is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.

The victim worked for KBR overseas, but that person's identity hasn't been released.
