Four dead in plane crash in suburb north of NYC

NEW YORK

Officials say there were no survivors in Saturday's crash in Armonk.

Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Holly Baker says the Cessna 210 took off from Westchester County Airport in White Plains shortly after 1 p.m., bound for Montauk, about 100 miles east. Soon after, the plane's pilot radioed to advise he was returning to the airport.

But Baker says the plane plummeted to the ground before reaching the runway and burst into flames.

The plane was registered to a Delaware company.

The cause of the accident is unknown.
