Thanks to some quick thinking neighbors, a two-year-old is safe after he nearly drowned in an apartment complex swimming pool. It happened around 8pm last night at the Windshire apartments on South Shaver near Crenshaw in southeast Houston. Witnesses say the boy was at the pool with his mother when he fell in going after a football. An older boy noticed him at the bottom of the pool and jumped in to get the two-year-old out. That's when a neighbor performed CPR on the boy before his mother.
"I say I gave him like 7 to 8 minutes to give it to him. He started throwing up and I'm still doing it," said good Samaritan Denise Jones. "She (the mother) came out to get him to breathe a little more and they wrapped the towel around him and kept calling the police and they came."
The two-year-old went to the hospital and is listed in critical condition.
