If it's a game of chicken the Texas House is playing, Republicans on the last day of session have Colonel Sanders on their side. Rep. Ken Legler on Monday arrived on the House floor wearing a cream white suit, string tie and carrying a cane and a KFC bucket of chicken. He walked through the lower chamber doors greeted with a robust, "Please welcome Colonel Sanders."

The Pasadena Republican called it his "summer suit" -- perhaps fitting since Gov. Rick Perry is expected to call lawmakers back for a special session as early as Tuesday.

Legler said he'd been planning to wear the getup on the last day to liven things up.

"The Colonel is in the House," he said.
