American Airlines wrapping up hail damage repairs

DALLAS, TX Spokeswoman Andrea Huguely says 24 flights were canceled Friday at the carrier's main hub, Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, for weather-related schedule adjustments.

She told The Associated Press that 50 American Airlines planes suffered hail damage in Tuesday night's storms that battered North Texas. Another American spokesman previously said all damaged planes were back in service by Thursday night, but Huguely said four planes still needed repairs Friday.

Jerry Johns with the Austin-based Southwestern Insurance Information Service says the industry expects between $200 million to $300 million in damage claims from the storms.
