Wiggins ousted as mayor of Kemah

KEMAH, TX The city now has a new mayor-elect.

A record number of voters turned up to the polls Saturday to elect Bob Cummins as the new mayor.

He beat out incumbent Matt Wiggins by 58 votes.

In recent days, Wiggins had been at the center of several 13 Undercover investigations for tax delinquencies and safety code violations at some of the bed and breakfasts he owns.

Cummins says it's time for change at city hall.

"Every business in every town runs into a plateau where it needs to go to the next level. In order to do that, sometimes you have to change management and administration to get to the next level," Cummins said.

Wiggins declined our request for an interview following the vote. The county clerk will release official results Monday.
