According to HISD officials, the female driver was doing a pre-trip bus check, and was outside of the bus inspecting it when she saw it start to roll towards another bus that was alongside her bus. As she tried to jump into her bus to stop it, she became trapped between the two buses.
A co-worker jumped into the bus the driver was inspecting by going through the back door of the vehicle and carefully moved the bus away from the second bus.
The injured driver was taken to LBJ Hospital to be checked out. She was apparently conscious and alert when she was transported.
The driver has been working with HISD since 1998, according to HISD. An investigation is underway to help determine what exactly happened in this morning's accident.
