ARLINGTON, TX --A glaring sunset reflecting off rain-slick pavement was blamed by some motorists as dozens of vehicles slammed into each other on a North Texas freeway. The incident happened about 7 p.m. Tuesday on Interstate 20 westbound in southwestern Arlington. Sgt. Os Flores, a police spokesman, says none of the injuries involved were life-threatening, but the wreckage forced the closing of the freeway's westbound lanes during the latter part of the commute.
Flores offered no estimates of the number of vehicles involved, but news report estimates ranged from about 40 to about 50.
