Two Spring schools locked down during manhunt

Students at two Spring ISD schools were placed on lockdown for nearly two hours Tuesday afternoon as a safety precaution. According to Spring ISD spokesperson Karen Garrison, Smith Elementary and Twins Creek Middle School were placed on lockdown at the request of the Harris County Sheriff's Office. Deputies were searching for three burglary suspects in the area.

The schools went on lockdown at 12:45pm, and it was lifted just before 2:40pm.

Two of the three suspects were captured, and authorities say they know the identity of the third.
