Texan driver survives SUV going off 50-foot cliff

EL PASO, TX The El Paso County Sheriff's Office on Monday announced 28-year-old Homar Navarette-Estala of El Paso was being treated for minor injuries.

Deputies late Sunday were dispatched to the Trans Mountain Road when witnesses reported an SUV made a curve, but then went off the road and about 50 feet down the side of a mountain.

Rescue personnel safely removed the driver, who was alone in the vehicle.

Investigators say the accident likely involved driver exhaustion.

Fort Bliss police were notified since the accident happened on military property.
