Homeowner Jhared Marshall says he was startled at about 9:15pm Tuesday when someone kicked in his front door on Aegean Drive.
"I hear 'boom', and 'Police, police, police, police, police!' And I knew immediately that's not the police," Marshall recalled.
His fiancée was downstairs and he was on the second floor. He ran to his six-year-old daughter's room to protect her, hiding with her in the closet, telling her not to make a sound
That's when Marshall realized his cell phone was in the next room. One of three intruders found them and ordered him out at gunpoint.
Marshall said, "I said, 'Whatever you do, don't kill me in front of my daughter and don't hurt her.'"
They didn't. Police say the men demanded money, holding a gun to Marshall's head and his fiancée's. They gave up their wallets and the men fled
It's the second incident in less than a week in Missouri City where men claiming to be police have forced their way into a home. Last time they wore vests that actually said police.
Det. Russell Terry with the Missouri City Police Department said, "It does not appear to be a link between this and the previous last week on Norwich Way and what occurred Tuesday night."
Police say Tuesday night all three suspects were African American. Last week the men were Hispanic.
That isn't much in the way of consolation to the victims, and certainly not to the scared six-year-old girl who is afraid now to sleep in her own bed
