Man accused of injuring children

HOUSTON According to court documents, Bobby Collins, 25, is accused of shaking his son when the boy was six months old, in June 2008. The baby was taken to a hospital by his grandmother, after she spotted bruising and described the infant as being 'lifeless.' Doctors reportedly found signs of internal bleeding and a number of injuries consistent with shaken baby syndrome.

Collins is also accused of hitting the three-year-old son of his girlfriend earlier this month. Police say the boy's mother noticed injuries and took him to the hospital. The boy had a broken arm and severe bruising, police say.

Collins faces two felony counts of injury to a child. Bail has been set at $50,000 for each count. As of Thursday afternoon, Collins remained at large. Anyone with information as to his whereabouts is asked to call the HPD Juvenile Division at 713-731-5335.
