Big rig runs over, kills motorcyclist in SE Houston

HOUSTON The accident happened at 3800 Broadway under the Gulf Freeway at 6:40am. We're told a big rig was pulling a shipping container and either stopped or was traveling at a slow rate of speed under the freeway overpass when the motorcyclist came up behind it and apparently lost control.

"Apparently, he saw the truck up ahead of him, an 18-wheeler truck, underneath the freeway. The motorcyclist laid the bike on the side and slid underneath the truck and then the truck ran over the driver of the motorcycle and killed him," said Sgt. G.T. Hall with the Houston Police Department accident division.

The accident is under investigation. The victim, in his 20s to 30s, hasn't been identified.
