The police investigation had all northbound lanes of the Southwest Freeway shut down before Hillcroft for a while, causing a major traffic jam. The lanes were finally reopened just before 9am.
The victim's identity hasn't been released.
Man hit, killed while trying to cross SW Freeway
HOUSTON
Police say a black Chevrolet Suburban was traveling northbound on the freeway when it struck a male pedestrian attempting to cross the highway. The driver did stop and provided information to investigators at the scene. The investigation is continuing.
