Police: Red light runner dies in collision

HOUSTON It happened in the 6700 block of the West Sam Houston Parkway North service road at West Little York about 10:50pm on Tuesday. Police say according to witnesses, a male was driving a black Lincoln MK2 northbound on the West Sam Houston Parkway North service road when a red Ford Taurus ran the red light at the intersection of West Little York. The Lincoln then struck the Taurus and the driver of the Taurus died at the scene.

The driver of the Lincoln was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in an unknown condition. We're told he will not face any charges.

The 20-year-old male driver of the Taurus was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Police say the investigation is continuing.
