Border Patrol agent fatally shoots man in Arizona

PHOENIX, AZ Several agencies involved in the shooting or investigation released few details, including whether the agent was put on leave.

The Cochise County Sheriff's Office says Douglas police saw a suspicious vehicle speed away from them toward the Mexican border Monday afternoon.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Carol Capas says Border Patrol agents were in the area when the vehicle made it to the border and "there were rocks thrown" at the agent.

She says the agent then shot the 19-year-old driver three times. The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition and later died.

It's unclear whether the 19-year-old was the one throwing rocks at the agent.
