Suspect identified in 'kick-in' burglary in Liberty County

Investigators say Derrick Hasselbring, 38, is wanted for at least one 'kick-in' burglary in Liberty County.

A suspect wanted in a least one 'kick-in' burglary in Liberty County has been identified.

Derrick Hasselbring has been positively identified by persons through Crime Stoppers tips received by the Liberty County Sheriff's Office. Investigators say he is the man seen in surveillance video of one victim's residence in the Plum Grove area of Liberty County.

Six homes have been hit. In most cases, the burglars kicked in the side or back doors and have taken guns, jewelry and cash. All the victims have been older women. Investigators believe there were a total of three men involved.

Hasselbring, 38, is described as a white male, 6 foot 4, and 185 pounds. He is still considered armed and extremely dangerous and citizens are urged not to attempt to detain or apprehend him.
