MISSOURI CITY, TX --Police say a homeowner shot and killed an intruder in his Missouri City residence on Monday afternoon. The Missouri City Police Department says officers responded to a reported shooting incident that occurred shortly after 1pm at a residence located in the 900 block of Bolton Drive. Officers came upon an adult male who said that a male suspect had entered his home after kicking in his back door. Police say the homeowner was able to retrieve a weapon before confronting the suspect, who had already made entry into the residence, to burglarize it. The homeowner noticed the suspect was armed with a handgun and, fearing for his life, shot the suspect one time. The suspect identified as, Anthony Joseph Stevens Jr., 26, of Houston, died at the scene. A second suspect was waiting out front in a vehicle, but fled the scene prior to officer's arrival. The second suspect identified as Anray Lasard Woodard Jr., 24, of Houston, was arrested after a short pursuit with officers from HPD. The homeowner was not injured.
