The information we're getting right now is that late last night, this trooper pulled someone over on 290. He gave that person a ticket, then got back in his car. As soon as he did, a woman driving a pickup truck drove straight into the back of his patrol unit. The impact was so intense that her truck rolled over.
That woman driver was also transported to the hospital. She is suffering minor injuries.
It's still unclear whether or not the woman was under the influence of any alcohol or drug at the time of the crash. Investigators say she claimed to have worked a 12-hour shift then headed to the rodeo, where she had a couple of drinks.
