SUGAR LAND, TX --Firefighters have nearly contained a structure and brush fire in Ft. Bend County that's been threatening some homes nearby. The fire broke out near homes at the intersection of FM 521 and Highway 6. The structure that was actually on fire contained some tires and rims, and firefighters are still having a hard time extinguishing the flames from it along with a shed behind it. The fire spread to a grassy area surrounding it. Firefighters had trouble extinguishing the fire immediately because a truck had gotten stuck in the wet grass. Officials have not yet stated the cause of the fire. The blaze is causing a traffic backup on FM 521.
