Accident involving tractor trailer shuts down East Loop

HOUSTON The accident happened early this morning between a minivan and a tractor trailer on I-610 East Loop northbound at Manchester. A HazMat crew was called to the scene after 200 gallons of diesel fuel spilled onto the highway.

All lanes were blocked between Highway 225 and Manchester Street for several hours. There were dozens of vehicles that were behind the accident that weren't able to get around the scene due to the fuel spill. The accident finally cleared around 6:15am.

There were no reports of any injuries.
