Women robbed during daylight attack

SUGAR LAND, TX The crime happened on January 30 in the 1900 block of Magnolia Crest Lane.

Police say a 20-year-old woman said she and her 52-year-old mother arrived at a friend's house shortly after noon. They parked near the curb in front of the house and had just exited their vehicle when a man approached them and took their purses at gunpoint. The man then ran away.

The suspect was described as a black male in his early to mid 20s, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 185 to 200 pounds. He had short hair and was wearing a t-shirt and athletic shoes.

A stolen credit card from one of the purses was later used at a Valero gas station located at 12550 Bellaire Blvd. Surveillance video from the store shows two men using the card to purchase gasoline. They were travelling in a dark gray Nissan Altima.
