Police: Suspect child killer could be in Montana

HELENA, MT Billings Police Sgt. Kevin Iffland says he received word from Texas authorities that 44-year-old Johnny "Scorpio" Lewis may be traveling through Montana, possibly by bus, on his way to Canada. Lewis, who is wanted on a capital murder warrant out of Dallas County, might have been in Billings at about 9 a.m. Thursday and was then spotted in the Helena area at about 3 p.m.

He is a suspect in the Feb. 20 homicide of a 2-year-old child in Duncanville, Texas.

Lewis is described as black, 6-foot-4 and about 190 pounds. He has graying dark hair, a scar under his right eye and a tattoo on his right arm. Police do not believe he has any family in Montana, and he could be staying in shelters along the way.
