HOUSTON --Federal authorities have moved accused ponzi schemer R. Allen Stanford from a Houston jail to a facility in Butner, North Carolina. The reason? To treat him for an addiction to anti-anxiety medication. Ironically, the prison in Butner also houses convicted ponzi king, Bernie Madoff. Stanford is charged with running his own $7 billion scheme.
He reportedly became addicted to a powerful anti-anxiety medication while jailed. A judge has ruled he won't be fit to stand trial until he's weaned off the drugs.
