HOUSTON Witnesses say another driver ran a red light at the East Beltway and C.E. King. According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, the red light runner smashed into the deputy's patrol car around 10:15pm. The deputy was pinned for a few moments, but his injuries are not serious.

"The patrol car rolled one time on its roof," said S. Wolverton with the Harris County Sherriff's Office. "Luckily, the deputy suffered only minor injuries."

We're told the red light runner did not show any signs of being drunk. The deputy was not headed to a call when the accident happened.
