Authorities: Take care of your warrants or else

HOUSTON Local law agencies and judges Friday announced the 2011 Great Texas Warrant Roundup. People with outstanding warrants have two weeks to take care of them before officers start tracking them down.

"Give citizens plenty of notice that if they have outstanding delinquent cases now is the time to show up, pay up and clear those warrants in order to avoid the embarrassment of arrest at their homes, places of employment or on the roads," said Judge Barbara Hartle of the Houston Municipal Courts.

More than 300 law enforcement jurisdictions across Texas, including 75 in this section of the Texas Gulf Coast, will take part in the roundup.
