Police say as the 19-year-old walked into his apartment and went upstairs, the 17-year-old male walked in behind him. The 17-year-old, allegedly highly intoxicated, bragged about shooting the friend's apartment, and then attempted to retrieve a semi-automatic pistol from his waistband.
The shooter retrieved his rifle, police say, shot toward the 17-year-old and struck him several times. The shooter then ran to a nearby gas station, flagged down a Harris County Precinct 5 deputy constable and advised him of the incident.
Authorities say the suspect claims he shot in self-defense. The investigation is ongoing.
