Bibb pleaded guilty over the June death of 26-year-old Theresa Adell Ardoin.
Bibb was arrested after calling 911 to report that he and the woman were attacked.
Orange County Sheriff Keith Merritt initially said Bibb and the woman possibly planned to do drugs and have sex, but then the pair argued.
Bibb told investigators that he killed the woman, put a rope around her and used his truck to drag her body to a canal, where the victim was found.
