Investigators believe they've solved a Houston-area murder that happened 23 years ago with the arrest of a woman in Tennessee. Norma Jean Clark, 62, is charged with the April 22, 1987 murder of her husband, Edmund High Clark. She was arrested in Winchester, Tennessee on Wednesday and is awaiting extradition back to Harris County.

On the morning of the alleged murder, deputies were sent to the home in the 22900 block of Laurelwood Lane in north Harris County. When they arrived, they found Edmund Clark dead in the master bedroom. He reportedly suffered two gunshot wounds -- one to the head and one to the back.

Norma Jean Clark reported being at the home when the shooting took place, but said she was in a different room. She says the gunfire woke her up and she fled to a neighbor's home.

The case remained unsolved until 2010 when the Harris County Sheriff's Office opened the case back up. The investigation revealed details and evidence that led to the charge.
