Home Depot, Walmart bringing jobs to Houston

HOUSTON

Walmart is hiring about 300 workers to work at its new store on Silber, which is set to open in April. The store is hiring for full-time and part-time associates. Interested applicants can apply on Walmart's website or go to the hiring center located at 10190 Katy Freeway, suite 501. It's open weekdays from 8am until 5:30pm, and from 8am until 1pm on Saturdays.

Home Depot plans on hiring more than 60,000 seasonal workers to help with its busy spring season. We're told more than 1,200 of those workers will be hired in the Houston area. They will be trained this month and in March, ahead of the second annual Spring Black Friday -- four different weekends in March and April that the company says will feature deals on hundreds of spring products.

Home Depot also said it will add some permanent part-time and full-time jobs this year, but did not specify how many.
