Drug-laden chocolates seized during bust

FRIENDSWOOD, TX On Friday at 3pm, the Friendswood Police Department served a narcotic search warrant in the 800 block of Briarmeadow Avenue. The search warrant was the result of an investigation into the sale of marijuana and other narcotic activity at the home and other locations within the City of Friendswood. According to police, officers seized 1.215 ounces of hydroponic marijuana, 355.5 grams of chocolate candies containing Psilocybin, drug paraphernalia, scales and cash.

Psilocybin is a psychedelic drug extracted from a mushroom of the same name. The affects are hallucinogenic in nature, similar to LSD. There were several small plastic baggies containing hydroponic marijuana.

Kory Allen Long, 19, of Friendswood, was charged with a first degree felony -- possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, penalty group 2. Long was booked into the Friendswood City Jail on Friday afternoon and later transferred to the Galveston County Jail. His bond was set at $20,000.

Police officials noted that this investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected in connection with this case.
