Frisco soil lead elevated, but below fed limits

DALLAS, TX The Dallas Morning News reports tests by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency found the lead levels were enough to warrant an immediate health emergency. But city consultant Kerry Russell says "there certainly is a level of concern that's now been confirmed that we need to do some more in-depth and extensive testing."

Soil samples were taken from 13 sites within a mile of the Exide Technologies Inc. plant. In November, the EPA found that air surrounding the plant did not comply with newly tightened restrictions for lead.
