MISSOURI CITY, TX --The remains of a 73-year-old man who disappeared near Missouri City after he left his family to buy fuel for their stranded vehicle have been found. Tim Miller with Equusearch says Jessie James Washington's remains were located and recovered on Monday. The body was found about 100 yards off the shore of a shallow lake near the Lakeshore Village clubhouse. Washington, 73, was driving with his family on January 23 when they got lost and their truck ran out of gas. They'd intended to travel from Huntsville back to their home in Marshall, Texas, but took a nearly 100-mile detour into Missouri City. Washington left his family in the vehicle on Palm Harbor Drive and headed to a gas mart not far away, but he never got there. Miller told us the family has been notified.
