Two officers injured in serious accident

It appears a driver failed to yield the right of way to an HPD unit that was headed to a call.

Two officers were hurt in a crash in northeast Houston. It happened on E. Tidwell and Havers. Police say the officers were responding to an emergency call when a car turned in front of them. The squad car hit the vehicle on its side. Both officers were taken to the hospital.

One had a broken ankle. The other officer only had bumps and bruises. They are both expected to be OK.

The driver of the other vehicle was not hurt but was ticketed for failing to yield the right of way.
