HOUSTON --Liberty High School students are learning the recording side of the music business with the opening of "SmallTown Studios." LHS government teacher Bruce Wright teaches an audio and video class and last year was looking for a way to incorporate the school's computer lab with his love of music. He applied for and received a $6,000 grant from the Liberty ISD Foundation to purchase microphones and recording equipment.
Wright says the act of students recording music and learning how then to manipulate it increases their musicianship and their marketability.
