The skeletal remains of a woman found in an abandoned building back in July 2008 have been identified. The victim, Kimberly Lynette Booker, 43, was found on the floor of an abandoned house next to the East Freeway service road near Waco Street. She suffered head wounds.

At the time of the initial investigation, the victim's identity was unknown. A follow up investigation and composite sketch failed to produce leads to her identity, and the case remained open.

This month, a DNA database verified the victim's identity as Kimberly Lynette Booker. Investigators are asking for the public's assistance in locating family members, as well as any information pertaining to this case.

Anyone with information on Kimberly Booker's family members or in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
