A Colorado man accused of using ether to subdue and rape a woman in Austin has been charged in the 2006 attack. Robert Howard Bruce was jailed Thursday in Pueblo, Colo., on the Texas warrant and other counts. Bruce is under investigation for similar attacks in New Mexico and Colorado.

The Austin American-Statesman reports Bruce on Wednesday was formally charged with aggravated sexual assault, burglary with commission of aggravated sexual assault and burglary with intent to commit sexual assault. The victim was a University of Texas student.

Bruce, who had a food vending business, is also held on charges of sexual assault and attempted murder. He allegedly tried to blow up the home of a Pueblo police officer who was to testify against him in a 2007 peeping Tom case.
