HOUSTON --Houston Independent School District has chosen the new principal of Yates High School. He replaces a principal who resigned amid allegations of sexual impropriety. HISD chose Samuel Coleman who last worked as special education program manager for the San Diego Unified School District. That's where HISD Superintendent Dr. Terry Grier came from before Houston. Coleman replaces Ronald Mumphery who retired suddenly in the fall. A confidential report showed Mumphery faced accusations of inappropriately touching three women including a high school cheerleader, among other accusations.
